Chapter Five

“It’s kind of scary," Toby said. "I mean, I’ve known Jason ever since kindergarten. And now he says he’s been in the wrong body all this time.”

Tracy could see that Toby was really upset. Tears were starting to roll down his cheeks.

 “Yes,” Mrs. McKenzie nodded.

“But I’m a girl!” Zoe blurted angrily.

“Absolutely,” Mrs. McKenzie murmured calmly.

“But—but the thing is,  the school nurse says maybe I’m—I’m not.”

“Not what, Zoe?” Mrs. McKenzie prodded kindly.

“Not—not a girl,” Zoe sighed.
